Jeff Green will undergo heart surgery and miss the entire 2011-12 season. But basketball is far less important than the forward's health, so it's extremely fortunate that Green's condition was detected when it was.
Green was found to have an aortic aneurysm, a serious condition that could have gotten worse over time had it not been discovered during the 25-year-old's physical.
