Liverpool signed Jordan Ibe from Wycombe Wanderers on Tuesday. The highly rated teenager will join the Reds when the transfer window opens on Jan. 1, according to the BBC.

As reported earlier this month, Liverpool beat out Manchester United and Tottenham for Ibe's signature. The 16-year-old striker will reportedly make the move to Anfield for a reported £500,000 ($780,000).

"Obviously we wanted to keep him, but we didn't want to stand in the way of an opportunity he deserves," Wycombe chairman Gary Waddock said. "I have no doubt in my mind that he will go on to become a big star and I will be keeping a close eye on his progress.

"I would like to wish him and his family all the best for the future."

Ibe made 11 appearances for Wycombe after debuting as a 15-year-old last August.

He will likely feature for the Liverpool reserves while he fights for playing time with the first team.
