The Red Sox have a very formidable top three in their rotation in Jon Lester, Josh Beckett and Clay Buchholz. But when it comes to the No. 4 and No. 5 spots in the rotation, there's some question marks for 2012.
Daniel Bard, who will enter spring training as a starter, and Alfredo Aceves remain two possible options to round out the rotation. But it's also no secret that Ben Cherington and Co. are doing their due diligence to try to add some starting depth.
One name that's been tossed around is Cubs right-hander Matt Garza. Garza has AL East experience, having pitched for the Rays, and is a gutsy competitor on the mound. That could bode well for the Sox if they were to try and pry him away from Theo Epstein.
Check out the video above from Red Sox Hot Stove Live to hear The Boston Globe's Nick Cafardo discuss Garza's availability and to hear his update on the Epstein compensation package.
