The Bruins suffered a difficult overtime defeat at the hands of the Rangers on Saturday, but they were at least able to salvage one point in the standings because of a strong effort.
Both of Boston's goals came off the sticks of defensemen, with Andrew Ference putting the B's on the board and Adam McQuaid adding a tally later in the game.
Ference's goal tied the score, 1-1, in the second period, and it was the result of both aggressiveness and patience. Ference aggressively jumped up into the play after noticing he had an opportunity to provide some offense. Then, once David Krejci hit him with a perfect feed, Ference showed great patience before going to the backhand for the goal.
