Theo Epstein has always been a champion for assessing players that best fit his system. Now he and the Chicago Cubs are going to take a big step in changing the way they will conduct its evaluation process.

The Cubs will be teaming up with Bloomberg Sports to utlize a system that revolutionizes the player assessment process. The system combines video with various data on every single professional player, along with new technology to help the Cubs' baseball operations department look at players.

Bloomberg Sports is one of the leaders in sports analytic technology. The company has had a major influence on the sport, and has been working with Major League Baseball for the past four years.

The two partners are eager to start their new partnership, and hope to see positive results come in the near future.

"We are excited to partner with Bloomberg Sports and benefit from their world-renowned expertise in analytics and information management," Epstein said in a release. "The management and analysis of data — whether it be scouting reports, statistics, medical information or video — is a critical component of our operation."

"Over the past few years, we have helped set the standard for excellence and efficiency in advanced analytics, whether it has been for MLB teams with our comprehensive, integrated systems, players with our tablet product or fans with our fantasy tools," Bill Squadron, head of Bloomberg Sports, added. "And this partnership is the next step in that evolution. Bloomberg as a company has always been about innovation, and we are very excited to partner with Theo and the Cubs organization."
