In the latest in a string of injuries that have slowed him since the beginning of last season, Deron Williams will miss Wednesday’s game in Boston with bruised ribs, the New Jersey Nets announced.
The Nets point guard, who turned his ankle on Saturday before returning to the court, battled a strained wrist last season. Williams’ absence means the Nets will be without their two top starters, as center Brook Lopez is out with a broken foot.
Providence College alum MarShon Brooks will make his first NBA start, according to a Nets tweet.
