The scene on the football field can be a little bit wild after a bowl game. There are players exchanging their shoulder pads for championship T-shirts, coaches getting doused in Gatorade, and of course, reporter-on-reporter violence.
That last part was there on Tuesday night, at least, after the Michigan Wolverines beat the Virginia Tech Hokies in overtime of the Sugar Bowl.
One reporter looking to impress her bosses — or, just as likely, working on a tight deadline — tried to grab a quick quote from Michigan head coach Brady Hoke. That, however, interfered with the plans of ESPN’s Holly Rowe, who had to do a live interview with the coach right on the field. Doing so can be difficult when another woman is interviewing the same man, so, pressed for options, Rowe straightened her forearm, stuck out her elbow and boxed out the competition from stealing the first words from a victorious Hoke.
