Oh, Thomas Menino. You never fail to disappoint when it comes to talking sports.
The Boston mayor is back at it, and this time, it has to do with Saturday night's Patriots-Broncos showdown at Gillette Stadium.
Boston.com points out that Menino and Denver mayor Michael Hancock have placed a little friendly wager on Saturday night's tilt. If the Patriots win, Hancock will be forced to wear Tom Brady's No. 12 jersey in addition to treating Menino to a steak dinner. If the Broncos somehow win, Menino owes Hancock a lobster dinner. That's not all, though, as a Denver win means the Paul Revere statue in the North End will become a Tim Tebow statue, as the famous statue will be dressed in a No. 15 jersey.
Menino also talked some smack when it came to the beers of the two regions.
"We have the best [beer]. I mean, you know, Colorado beer? It hasn't even made it east yet. Sam Adams has made it to the west and Harpoon has made it out there, but Colorado Rocky beer? Uck," he said.
Apparently, Menino has never experienced a "super cold Rocky Mountain refreshment."
Of course, what would sports analysis from the esteemed mayor of Boston be without some butchered names? With that, we give you this video from FOX 25.
