Patrice Bergeron could be described with one word after Monday night’s performance: clutch. The Bruins center was cool under fire when his teammates were looking for him to step up, coming up huge with a shootout goal in a must-score situation to keep the Bruins alive.
After that, David Krejci knocked in the game-winner in the fourth round of a shootout against the Panthers to win 3-2. Tuukka Rask led the way on D for the Bruins with 38 saves, some bigger that others given the four breakaways the B’s gave up. Ultimately though, Bergeron was the best player out there.
That’s why NESN Nation’s Dan Duquette is giving Bergeron our “One Cool Cat” player of the game. But Bergeron won’t be able to enjoy the honor for long — the Bruins have to turn around and do this all over again on Tuesday night.
