Swansea midfielder Joe Allen has been linked with a summer transfer to Liverpool FC. The Independent reports the Reds will make a transfer bid for Allen, as his signing would perfectly suit the transfer policy implemented by Kenny Dalglish and Damian Comolli.
Allen has impressed in his first season in the Premier League, playing in an advanced position in the Swansea midfield. His composure in possession and passing ability are key to a team that has earned praise for its fluid approach play.
Swansea sits comfortably in 10th place in the league, and manager Brendan Rodgers has tried to ward off interest in any of his players. It is highly unlikely that Allen would leave the club in January, but a summer move is possible.
He signed a new contract last summer that lasts until 2015. The 21-year-old joined the Swans as a nine-year-old, and has been a first-team regular since the 2008-09 season.
