Report: Manny Ramirez to Start Working Out for Major League Teams Later This MonthManny Ramirez is taking the next step in his attempted return to Major League Baseball, as he gets set to show what he's got left for big league clubs.

ESPN.com reports that Ramirez is set to work out for a handful of teams later this month. It's unclear tat this point which teams he'll work out for and how many there are.

Ramirez has played in just 199 games since 2008, as he served a 50-game suspension while with the Dodgers and abruptly retired just five games into the 2011 season. Ramirez retired after once again testing positive for banned substances. Instead of serving that ban, Ramirez just walked away.

If and when Ramirez does catch on with a team, he'll have to serve a 50-game suspension, a compromise that the he and the league came to after he revealed he wanted to return.

In those five games last year with Tampa Bay, Ramirez had just one hit in 17 at-bats. In 2010, Ramirez hit .298 with nine home runs and 42 RBIs in just 90 games.

The slugger was also arrested in September and charged with domestic battery following a dispute with his wife.
