Report: Patriots Offensive Assistant Coach George Godsey to Follow Bill O’Brien to Penn State

Bill O'Brien is set to take over as Penn State's head coach next season, and it appears he'll be bringing at least one member of the New England staff with him.

Patriots offensive assistant coach George Godsey will follow O'Brien to Penn State to serve as the team's quarterbacks coach, according to ESPN.com.

Godsey, 33, joined the New England staff last February. He previously coached at the University of Central Florida — serving as a graduate assistant in 2004, the quarterbacks coach from 2005 to 2008 and the running backs coach in 2009 and 2010.

Godsey, a former quarterback at Georgia Tech, played for O'Brien during his senior season, when O'Brien was the school's offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.
