There have been worse times to be a fan of Boston sports.
The Bruins have lost just four times since the start of November, the Celtics have turned their slow start into history and the Patriots are entering the playoffs on an eight-game winning streak and as the top seed in the AFC.
Which one is the hottest?
The Celtics are the underdogs here, of course, but things certainly looked dire last week, after they dropped their first three games of the season. Now, after four straight wins, nobody is quite as concerned as they were then, with Wednesday's 19-point win over the Nets serving as the latest example.
The Patriots, meanwhile, seemingly had to give their opponents head starts the past couple of weeks, just to up the degree of difficulty. Bill Belichick's team won their final eight games of the season by an average of nearly 17 points. They haven't lost since Nov. 6.
On a hot streak of their own are the Boston Bruins, whose win Wednesday night was their 22nd in their last 26 games. Their plus-60 goal differential is also almost twice as good as any other team's in the league.
