Ben Cherington, Bobby Valentine Still Hopeful Daisuke Matsuzaka Can Have Positive Impact on Red Sox

Ben Cherington and Bobby Valentine certainly aren't ready to give up on Daisuke Matsuzaka. In fact, they're still hoping that he can come back and contribute to the Red Sox — this season.

Cherington fielded a question about the right-hander at the Red Sox Town Hall event, and he said that he's still expecting Matsuzaka to be back this season after Tommy John surgery ended his 2011 campaign early. Valentine added that he felt the right-hander looked good in returning to a mound earlier this week, and he's hopeful Matsuzaka can make a positive contribution this season.

Aetna Strikeouts for A Cause

For every strikeout by a Red Sox pitcher at Fenway Park in June, Aetna will donate $250 to Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program. Through June 25, the donation mark stands at $30,000.

Through their continued efforts in the local community, Aetna is helping to build a healthier world -- one city and one strikeout at a time.
