Boston College jumped to second in the national college hockey rankings this week after dropping No. 12 Merrimack in back-to-back games over the weekend, extending its current winning streak to seven.

BC (21-10-1) kicked off the week with an overtime win over Boston University, capturing its third-straight Beanpot title, and capped things off by giving head coach Jerry York his 900th career win on Friday night.

The Eagles received 11 first-place votes this week, but still sit behind No. 1 Ferris State in the rankings.

UMass-Lowell (20-9-0) fell just one spot to seventh in the country this week after splitting a weekend series with new No. 5 Boston University (18-11-1). The River Hawks sit just a few points behind sixth-ranked Minnesota, while BU trails third-ranked Michigan and fourth-ranked Minnesota-Duluth.

Maine (18-10-3) continues to creep up in the voting, climbing one spot to 10th in the nation, while Merrimack (15-9-6) slipped five spots down to 12th after its weekend losses to BC.

On the women's side, Boston College (21-8-3) remains steady at fourth, while Northeastern (22-6-4), Harvard (20-8-1) and BU (20-13-1) sit at seventh, eighth and ninth in the nation, respectively.
