Every move on NHL trade deadline comes as some sort of news, but the Bruins' first move on Monday was strictly internal — for now.
The Bruins announced on Monday morning that they had recalled forward Max Sauve and defenseman Andrew Bodnarchuk from Providence of the AHL. The pair of Baby B's were expected to be at TD Garden in time for the Bruins' 10:30 a.m. practice.
It's an interesting move, of course, as it comes on the day of the deadline meaning that it may be a precursor to another move. On the other hand, it may be a move to simply bolster depth for a team that has been banged up as of late. The B's aren't getting any healthier, either, as both Johnny Boychuk and Joe Corvo were shaken up following hits during Saturday night's game at Ottawa. Boychuk never returned after being drilled by Chris Neil in the third period on Saturday.
Bodnarchuk is returning to the NHL for the second time this season, while Sauve is being called up for the first time in his career.
The Bruins also announced that goaltender Adam Courchaine has been recalled to Providence from the ECHL.
