A small fire was put out at Fenway Park on Monday morning after causing minor damage to the building's mail room.

The Boston Fire Department responded at 11:26 a.m. for a fire on the second floor of Fenway Park, the BFD reported on its official Twitter page. By 11:49 a.m., the fire department reported that the fire was out.

Damage was initially estimated at $30,000, mostly due to smoke and water, but that estimate was increased to $100,000 once a better assessment was made of water damage to the floors, the BFD reports.

An electrical short circuit near a wall-mounted light fixture was blamed for the fire.

Archival photos were stored in the area of the fire, according to the BFD, and Fenway staff was assessing if there was any water damage to the photos.
