Johnny Boychuk has provided the Bruins with some solid blue-line play this season, and he was rewarded with a three-year contract extension on Tuesday.
The 28-year-old defenseman's new deal will run through the 2014-15 season, and it clearly shows that general manager Peter Chiarelli is pleased with the progress he's seen during Boychuk's tenure in Boston.
The NESN pregame crew discussed the deal prior to Tuesday's game against the Rangers, and they feel it's a great one for both sides. Boychuk is very well-liked in the Bruins locker room, and he remains one of team's core defenseman.
