Mini-Playoff Against Ottawa Gives Bruins Chance to Measure Up Against Potential First-Round Opponent (Video)

Despite their troubles over the last month and a half, the Bruins have still managed to stick in second place of the Eastern Conference standings. Saturday night's opponent, the Ottawa Senators, have tried time and again to unseat the B's but so far have been unsuccessful.

NESN Nation's Dan Duquette is intrigued that the Bruins and Senators would match up in the first round of the playoffs if the season had already ended. Even cooler is that the B's and Sens are about to play a home-and-home series, first in Ottawa and then in Boston.

With the trade deadline looming on Monday, this seems like a nice chance for Boston to see what they've got before making any drastic moves.
