NHL Trade Deadline Always Exciting, Although Big Moves Unlikely This Season (Video)

It's one of the busiest times of the year for NHL general managers and one of the most exciting for hockey fans.

The NHL trade deadline always generates plenty of buzz, with rumors and opinions running rampant leading up to the big day. This season is no different, as many names have already surfaced as potential trade chips, with the biggest being Columbus Blue Jackets captain Rick Nash.

However, a Nash deal — and any other big trade — seems unlikely, as NHL GMs are beginning to take a new approach to building a winner.
