Rob Gronkowski Getting Annoyed With Overflow of Questions About Injured Ankle

INDIANAPOLIS — It's only Wednesday, and Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski has really gotten tired of hearing the questions about his injured left ankle, which has become the storyline of the Super Bowl week.

"I've just got to be patient, I guess," Gronkowski said of the questions. "It's definitely getting a little annoying hearing the same question for over an hour. I've just got to make sure I stay humble, working hard and doing the best I can to get out there."

It's a tough situation. Every member of the Patriots has been made available to the media for a full hour Tuesday and Wednesday, and it's impossible for each reporter to be in 60 places at once. As such, Gronkowski is asked about his ankle by nearly everyone who walks by his table.

Does he think it's crazy that he's got the most popular ankle on the planet right now, just days before the record-setting tight end is going to play in the Super Bowl?

"Yeah, it is wild, but you've got to put your blinders on," Gronkowski said. "You really can't get distracted. You can't really worry about that. The only thing to worry about is the New York Giants' defense and getting better every single day."

Soon after, another reported walked by to ask Gronkowski about the injury, which caused him to wear a walking boot Sunday during the team's flight to Indy.

"It's good, feels better than [Tuesday], making positive strides every single day, so that's all you've got to ask for," Gronkowski said.

Still, Gronkowski has enjoyed his first trip to the Super Bowl.

"It's been a blast here, being out with the team, being with the team for the last week," Gronkowski said. "We're having a blast out here. Everyone is coming together. We're having fun. Media Day is pretty crazy, all that stuff going on, but we're having fun and that's all you can ask for."
