Red Sox players have been rolling into the new facilities at Fort Myers for the last week or so. On Wednesday, a member of the Patriots joined them.
Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski was seen hobbling through the parking lot on crutches while talking with Red Sox medical operations coordinator Jim Rowe.
Gronkowski's cameo in Florida and subsequent meeting with Rowe likely has to do with the tight end's left ankle. He had surgery on the ankle earlier this month after injuring it in the AFC Championship game against Baltimore on Jan. 29.
Rowe is also no stranger to ankle injuries. He was serving as the head trainer for the club in 2004 when Curt Schilling underwent ankle surgery following his famed run through the playoffs after makeshift "surgery" allowed Schilling to pitch in the ALCS and World Series.
