Leg injuries on the golf course aren't very common. So what does that make the probability of a stab wound?

According to the Golf Channel, 48-year-old Clay Carpenter said his leg might need to be amputated as the result of major blood loss, which he suffered after getting stabbed with the shaft of a broken club during a round of golf.

The report says the altercation occurred at a resort in Fort Worth, Texas on Jan. 27, when Carpenter and his group requested to play through (or move ahead of) a group of four in front of them. Carpenter said that members of the groups began to fight — first verbally, then physically — before he was stabbed in the leg twice by a member of the other foursome.

"People get in arguments every day on every golf course in America, but 99.9 percent of the time no one takes it this far," Carper said.

Carpenter was released from the hospital Sunday, according to the report. However, he said he might still need to have it amputated if the blood flow in his leg does not improve.
