UMass-Lowell and Boston University will meet up Saturday, Feb. 18 in a matchup that will debut NESN's Hockey East flex schedule.

The contest between the No. 9 River Hawks and the No. 3 Terriers will be preceded by Hockey East Face-Off LIVE at 7 p.m. on NESN. UMass-Lowell and Boston University will drop the puck at 7:30 p.m.

The game is the debut of NESN's flex scheduling option, which allows NESN to bring viewers the best matchup for the final three weeks of the Hockey East regular-season schedule.

"This is a great way for NESN to showcase the best games as the league's regular season schedule comes to a conclusion," Hockey East commissioner Joe Bertagna said in a news release.

Boston University leads the all-time series against UMass-Lowell with a record of 67-19-8, but the River Hawks won the first meeting this season by a score of 7-1 on Nov. 5.

With the Terriers looking for revenge, Tom Caron will provide play-by-play with Craig Janney as the color analyst.

Future flex games for NESN will be announced two weeks before the game takes place.

NESN Coverage of Upcoming Hockey East Games Includes:

Vermont at UMass-Lowell — Saturday, Feb. 4 at 7 p.m. ET

New Hampshire at Merrimack — Saturday, Feb. 11 at 7 p.m.
