Vote: Who Is the Best Goalie in Hockey East History?Hockey East has never had a shortage of exquisite goaltending, and as we'll all hear over and over again during Sunday's Academy Awards, just being nominated as one of the best is an honor.

That doesn't mean we can't try to pare down the field into the five best to determine who was the greatest goalie in Hockey East history.

Kevin Regan was always busy come the postseason. New Hampshire never missed an NCAA tournament in Regan's four seasons, which concluded with a decorated senior season in 2007-08. Regan was named Hockey East Player of the Year and won the Walter Brown Award, which goes to the best hockey player in New England. He set his school's record for save percentage in a single season and is the only Wildcats goalie to win 20 games in back-to-back seasons.

Northeastern often takes a backseat to its opponents in Hockey East and the annual Beanpot, but in 2008-09 Brad Thiessen assured the Huskies took a backseat to nobody. Thiessen won Hockey East Player of the Year and was named a Hobey Baker Award finalist. He holds NU's career records for goals-against average, save percentage and shutouts.

John Curry had a Jeremy Lin-like rise at Boston University, where he enrolled as a walk-on out of the Taft School in Connecticut. Curry became the starting goaltender as a sophomore and seized the opportunity, going on to win the Hockey East Player of the Year award as a senior.

Jimmy Howard took Maine to the Frozen Four final in 2004 before falling in a 1-0 classic to Denver. Howard went on to Detroit, where he went from backup to Calder Trophy runner-up.

Boston College enjoyed loads of success with Cory Schneider. With Schneider in goal, the Eagles won two Lamoirello Trophies in three years and went to consecutive NCAA Frozen Four finals. Schneider later teamed with Roberto Luongo in Vancouver to form the NHL's top goaltending duo in 2010-11 in terms of goals-against average.
