Vote: Would You Trade Rajon Rondo for Pau Gasol?Rajon Rondo's name won't stop coming up in trade rumors, and Pau Gasol was all but dealt to the Rockets this past offseason. Are the Celtics and Lakers now so willing to trade their stars that they'll consider swapping them in a deal?

Well, that's the latest rumor, as reported by HoopsWorld's Eric Pincus. And it's a juicy one at that.

The Celtics have reportedly expressed interest in a Rondo-for-Gasol swap, which comes on the heels of Lakers general manager Mitch Kupchak making a comment to Lakers.com that some feel should be taken literally.

"If there were a way for us to get a 25-year-old, All-Star, ball-handling guard we'd love to do it," the Lakers GM said. "But that's not likely in February. So you look at other alternatives, and see if it's better than what you have. That's all."

It's unclear whether Rondo was actually the subject of that quote, but he is the only All-Star point guard in the NBA who is 25. And according to Pincus' report, sources indicate that the C's do have interest in making such a trade, as they don't appear to want to build their roster around Rondo.

The move would surely provide the Celtics with a solid 1-2 punch in the front court, with Gasol playing alongside Kevin Garnett. That's an area that's plagued the team since the Kendrick Perkins trade. However, such a move would likely mean the Celts are OK with Avery Bradley handling the bulk of the minutes at point guard, potentially a big gamble for the Green.

Such a trade would be a gigantic roll of the dice for both teams, but such a blockbuster would certainly generate a lot of buzz and shake up each team's philosophy.
