Boston Bruins forward Shawn Thornton will lead other members of the team on March 28 as they team up with 98.5 The Sports Hub to host a charity event.
It will be the fifth annual “Cuts For A Cause” with the proceeds going to the Boston Bruins Foundation and Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center.
At the event, Thornton and his teammates will have their heads shaved by auction winners in order to raise money and show support for children battling cancer. Fred “Toucher” Toettcher and Rich Shertenlieb of 98.5 The Sports Hub will host the event where fans will get the chance to shave the players’ heads on stage.
Tickets for the event go on sale March 13 and can be purchased through the Boston Bruins official site. VIP tickets will sell for $75 while general admission costs $25.
At last year’s event, the Bruins raised over $40,000 for charity and will look to top that figure this year.
