BYU, Western Kentucky Rally for Victories on First Day of NCAA Tournament

The NCAA tournament is officially under way, with BYU and Western Kentucky emerging as the Day 1 winners.

Western Kentucky rallied to beat Mississippi Valley State in the tourney opener 59-58. T.J. Price‘s 3-point play with 33 seconds remaining sealed WKU’s rally from a 15-point deficit.

In the later game, BYU also overcame an early deficit. The Cougars went down by a 25-point margin before rallying to take down Iona.

Western Kentucky will now square off with top-seeded Kentucky, while BYU will take on No. 3 Marquette.
