Tuukka Rask's injury could make life difficult for Tim Thomas and the Bruins down the stretch, but as NESN's Mark Mowers puts it, you can't count out Thomas because he's consistently proved doubters wrong throughout his career.
What is evident, though, is that the B's will need to elevate their game against difficult opponents, such as the Rangers. The B's have lost all three of their meetings with the Eastern Conference leaders this season, but Mowers isn't too concerned because Boston has shown an ability to hang with the Rangers throughout. That was especially true during Sunday's game, when the Bruins dominated play for much of the game despite the loss.
Before Rask went down, the B's were already banged up offensively. And although that's unfortunate, it did give Claude Julien a chance to experiment with a new line, which is playing well since coming together. David Krejci, Milan Lucic and Tyler Seguin have provided much of the Bruins' offense of late, and it will be interesting to see how Julien approaches his line situation when Nathan Horton and Rich Peverley return to the ice.
