Do the Bruins Need to Acquire Another Goalie if Tuukka Rask Misses Significant Time? The Bruins lost more than just a game on Saturday against the New York Islanders. They also lost Tuukka Rask to injury for an unknown amount of time.

Rask won't be travelling to New York with the team on Sunday to take on the Rangers, so Michael Hutchinson will be an emergency addition for the B's.

Hutchinson is 6-11-0 with a 2.62 GAA and a .920 save percentage this season in the AHL for the Providence Bruins, where he was actually the backup for Anton Khudobin. However, Khudobin is currently sidelined with a wrist injury, paving the way for Hutchinson's shot at the big time.

In the short term, the Bruins can obviously rely on Tim Thomas to shoulder the load in goal. However, if Rask ends up missing a significant number of games or God forbid anything happen to Thomas, the Bruins will need some additional help between the pipes. Should they rely on the young guns down in Providence to pick up the slack? Or should they explore the free agent market, looking for any veterans out there ready for another gig?
