It didn't take long for Mario Williams to have some fun with his new team and his new division rivals.

After signing the most lucrative NFL contract a defensive player has ever received, Williams took some time and put real thought and creativity into his new Twitter avatar.

The result is a Super Mario Brothers-themed image featuring Williams and a fellow Mario, new San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Mario Manningham.

And then, of course, there's the fireball. Much like the video game Mario, Williams seems to have the power to shoot fireballs at his opponents and enemies. Well, the image Williams is using as his avatar features the new Buffalo Bills defensive end shooting one right at a Goomba dressed in a Tom Brady jersey.

If you don't know what a Goomba is, don't worry. The implications of the fictional Super Mario character's clothing choice is much more important.

Ever since a certain cornerback named Bernard Pollard tore Brady's knee apart, the Patriots star quarterback has not been a fan of the pass rush. Now, it seems, he'll have to deal with plenty of it, as Williams is looking to burn him both metaphorically and in reality.

The Patriots are never ones to be intimidated by nonsense like this, but Williams' skills are no nonsense. He'll be a big part of New England's protection scheme going forward.
