Neymar's Scores 'Goal of the Year' Candidate for Santos Against Internacional (Video)Lest anyone forgets that Europe holds no monopoly on great soccer, Neymar is there to remind them. On Wednesday, the 20-year-old star scored a goal on Wednesday that rivals the one that netted him the 2011 FIFA Goal of the Year award.

The forward scored a hat-trick for Santos in its 3-1 win over Internacional in Copa Libertadores action. His second will make all the headlines.

Neymar took the ball from his own half and ran through the oppenents’ midfield at top speed. When he came up against defenders, he used a few stepovers — like the good Brazilian phenom he is — to throw them off balance.

He almost lost control of the ball, but was able to flick the ball over the on-rushing goalkeeper to complete the heroic effort.

The budding superstar might as well dust off that tuxedo he wore to last year’s FIFA awards gala, because he’s probably heading back to Zurich, Switzerland, again.
