The NBA trade deadline is approaching, and the Celtics are expected by some to be heavily involved. It sounds like that if they make a deal, it will be as a seller.
ESPN.com reports that the C's are "aggressively" trying to trade All-Star point guard Rajon Rondo. According to the ESPN report, the Celtics "find Rondo's personality to be too high-maintenance and his clashes with coach Doc RIvers remain an off-court distraction."
The Celtics are also said to believe that they are no longer contenders for the NBA title, and they feel that Rondo isn't someone they want to build around moving forward.
Rondo's name has been tossed around in trade rumors before, and he was mentioned earlier this season when the Celtics were reportedly trying to acquire Chris Paul, who was eventually dealt to the Clippers.
The ESPN report also indicates that Boston had discussed a deal with Golden State earlier in the year, speaking about a trade that would land Stephen Curry in Boston. The Warriors, however, pulled out of those discussions.
