Report: Jason Chimera Won't Receive Supplemental Discipline for Hit on Adam McQuaidJason Chimera was given a five-minute major for charging and a game misconduct for for his hit against Adam McQuaid on Thursday night. It appears that's the only punishment he will be given.

The Washington Examiner's Brian McNally reports that Chimera will not receive any supplemental discipline for his hit on the Bruins defenseman in the first period of the Capitals' shootout win in Boston. The hit left McQuaid, who has a history of head and neck injuries, with a cut somewhere on his head or face, and it forced him to leave the game. He did not return.

McNally points out that because McQuaid started to pivot as he was playing the puck behind the Bruins net, he made himself more vulnerable. The league is also reportedly saying that Chimera had begun to slow down before delivering the check.
