The juiciest trade rumors leading up to this year's NHL trade deadline involved Columbus forward Rick Nash, who surely would have provided plenty of scoring punch to a team in need of offense.
Nash didn't end up getting dealt, but among the teams rumored to be interested in the former 40-goal scorer were the New York Rangers. This was a scary thought considering how good the Rangers are already, but it also created questions as to why they would go after Nash in the first place.
Columbus was seeking a king's ransom in exchange for its captain, and the Rangers have already established fantastic team chemistry throughout this season. Bringing in Nash would have been a huge risk for a team that has already proved it's capable of being a Stanley Cup contender come playoff time.
The Instigators debated the Rangers' actual interest in Nash this past week. Check out the video above to hear what they had to say.
