High school athletes across Massachusetts have plenty of different motives. Some want to compete with their friends and peers, others hope to pursue athletics at a collegiate or professional level, and plenty want to bring pride to their respective schools.

But at the end of the year, there sits a little extra incentive that rests in the back of most young athletes' minds. If their team is successful, they just might get the chance to compete on the court or the ice at the TD Garden.

For the 16th consecutive year, the TD Garden will open the doors to an arena that typically houses the Bruins and Celtics, and instead welcome inside the best of the best in Massachusetts high school sports.

Starting on March 12, the boys and girls basketball and hockey tournaments will play out with the same treatment the professionals get. Each game will feature music, instant replays, and the electric feeling of competing in a building that has seen over 20 championships.

Tickets will be on sale via www.ticketmaster.com or the TD Garden Box Office starting March 5. More information can be found here.
