12:39 p.m.: Tebow was asked about the skepticism surrounding the move, and how he's going to respond to people saying the trade is a gimmick. The QB said he's looking to work hard, and that his hard work in the weight room and in his preparation will prove to his teammates that he wants to win.
He was also asked about the oddity of a backup quarterback having a news conference, to which he jokingly said, "You'll have to blame the guys upstairs," referring to the Jets front office.
Tebow said the news conference wasn't his idea and that he's just having fun with it. Somewhere, Rex Ryan, Mike Tannenbaum and Woody Johnson are having their fair share of fun with it as well — especially Johnson, who will watch as jersey sales rise and more and more eyes focus on the Jets.
12:38 p.m.: Tebow said he has no ill will toward the Broncos organization or Peyton Manning.
12:34 p.m.: A reporter pointed out that Tebow is so frequently connected to religion, but that his core beliefs have rarely been disussed at length. The quarterback was asked why he refrains from perhaps sharing his views when it comes to religion and hot-button topics.
Tebow said that he is Christian, and that he rarely discusses his core views because he's usually speaking at football news conferences, as he is today. For that, Tebow said he sticks to football, although he admits he's open to discussing other issues.
12:32 p.m.: Tebow was asked whether he thinks a billboard of him above the Lincoln Tunnel would be a distraction, and he said that he doesn't see it as being a problem because his teammates would probably understand it's out of his control.
12:31 p.m.: Tebowing is the latest topic of discussion, with the quarterback saying that it's a routine he's been doing for the past seven years.
12:29 p.m.: Tebow once again credits his relationship with the Jets coaching staff for his decision to join the Jets over the Jaguars.
12:28 p.m.: Tebow once again stressed that he's just going to be himself, have fun and do what he can to help the Jets win football games.
12:26 p.m.: Tebow said that it's a responsibility of his to be a role model and set a good example for kids.
More importantly, though, he admitted that he has a Danny Weurffel autograph.
12:24 p.m.: Tebow just thanked his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ when asked a question regarding his outspokeness as it pertains to his faith.
Tebow said he doesn't think that's why he garners so much attention, although it might add to it a little bit. He said he isn't the first athlete to get on a knee and pray.
12:22 p.m.: Ring the bell. First Wildcat reference…It was wild.
12:21 p.m.: There it is. Tebow just admitted he watched Hard Knocks. Do you think Broadway Joe will be showing him how to handle snaps any time soon?
12:20 p.m.: When asked about the pressure he'll face while playing in New York, Tebow said he feels like he isn't feeling any pressure, before once again saying he's excited to be a Jet.
"I'm so honored and humbled to be a Jet," he said.
Wouldn't you once like to hear a guy show up to a news conference and say, "This place sucks."
12:18 p.m.: Tebow called Sanchez a classy person with a lot of integrity.
"The quarterback room should be fun," he said. … Oh joy!
12:17 p.m.: Tebow was just asked whether he thought it was fair for him to put Mark Sanchez in a position where Sanchez is starting in front of perhaps the most popular player in the league.
Interesting question, not-so-interesting response, as Tebow said that Sanchez is "secure" with his job.
12:15 p.m.: Tebow described himself as a "football player," saying he's ready to do whatever it takes to help the Jets win.
12:13 p.m.: Tebow said he and Mark Sanchez have a "great relationship."
Tebow was then asked about whether he got the sense that Sanchez is angry about the trade, and he said that he expects the two to have a great working relationship.
12:11 p.m.: It took three minutes for the first question to come about whether Tebow aspires to be the starter in New York. He answered it how you'd expect him to, saying that it's obviously every quarterback's dream to be the starter, and that he's just happy to be a New York Jet. … Yawn.
12:10 p.m.: Tebow said the Broncos discussed his future with him before shipping him to New York, talking with the quarterback about going to either the Jets or Jaguars. The quarterback seems excited to play for Ryan and offensive coordinator Tony Sparano.
12:08 p.m. Tebow immediately thanks the Broncos organization for his time there and the Jets for bringing him in upon taking the podium.
He then opened it up for questions by responding to the first reporter with a polite, "Yes, ma'am."
12:07 p.m.: And here he is, looking dapper in his gray suit with Jet green tie.
12:05 p.m.: Somewhere, Jets fans are already chanting, "TEBOW! TEBOW! TEBOW!"
12:03 p.m.: Is anyone else sick of hearing about the Wildcat? When did it work — once, twice, three times? Give it up.
12:00 p.m.: All right, it's noon. Where is he?
11:50 a.m.: I wonder what Tebow's Jets teammates are doing/thinking right now.
The New York Post reported that several anonymous Jets players expressed skepticism about the Tebow trade on Saturday. So, apparently, it isn't just those on the outside looking in who realize this move makes little sense.

11:45 a.m.: The Tebow media circus has already been in high gear, but it's only going to get crazier from here.
ESPN's Ed Werder just compared this afternoon's news conference to the Broncos' news conference introducing Tebow after he was drafted in the first round in 2010. Werder said today's turnout is going to far exceed the turnout for that 2010 conference — as you might expect.
One interesting thing to note is that head coach Rex Ryan, general manager Mike Tannenbaum and owner Woody Johnson will all be absent from today's news conference, as they're at league meetings.
Ryan already talked a little bit about Tebow's role this coming season, saying that the recently acquired quarterback is going to be a "major contributor." Johnson expressed a similar sentiment, saying that he'll add flexibility and versatility.
"Pressure is something that Mark [Sanchez] has no problem with," Johnson said, according to the New York Daily News. "Neither does Tim Tebow, from what I gather. I don't know him very well. Mark is very, very good. We've all seen him in the fourth quarter. Wish he would get better in the first quarter perhaps."
Is that skepticism about Tebow's first-quarter skills? Well, he has been pretty awful early in games, so it's understandable.
11:30 a.m. ET: Tim Tebow has already touched down in New York, but he'll be formally introduced as a member of the New York Jets for the first time Monday.
Tebow is scheduled to be introduced during a news conference at the team's headquarters at noon, likely marking the first time in NFL history that a backup quarterback will have a news conference held for him by his new team.
But don't worry, this trade isn't a marketing ploy/attention grab (shakes head).
Wait, I actually shouldn't refer to Tebow as a backup quarterback — at least if you believe Rex Ryan's comments regarding Tebow's role next season.
"Tim is going to be a major contributor to our football team," Ryan said on NFL Network. "With the Wildcat specifically, the great thing is you don't know if we're going to run it one snap a game or 20 snaps a game — you have no idea. Every week, it could be different. That's some of the preparation problems he gives you."
What Ryan left out is that Tebow also forces you to prepare for the media circus that accompanies him — a circus we'll be keeping you up to speed on throughout today's news conference.
