At this point, Moss is basically his own rumor mill, creating story after story, without even stepping foot onto a football field. Maybe this time is different.
The most recent rumor has Moss linked to the New Orleans Saints. The once-great receiver was scheduled to work out with the Saints on Tuesday as the team attempts to add depth to their dwindling corps of wideouts.
Bringing Moss on board obviously has some risks, i.e. inconsistency and personality issues as well as possible locker room headaches. Unfortunately for New Orleans, even if they do manage to sign Moss, they will still have an extremely disgruntled quarterback in charge of getting Randy his touches.
The Saints currently have a more important problem on their hands, and that problem is in the shape of their 6-foot, 207 pound, Super Bowl-winning quarterback Drew Brees. New Orleans used their franchise tag on Brees after failing to reach a long-term agreement and, according to CBSSports.com, Brees is “livid about being franchise tagged and not receiving a long-term contract.”.
With all of the drama surrounding New Orleans, maybe Moss would be the perfect partner for the newly unhappy quarterback.
