The Bruins made a statement without a few of their big stars on Thursday night. But even in the absence of Patrice Bergeron and Zdeno Chara, the success of the B's third line continued to shine.
Benoit Pouliot was especially able to capitalize on the opportunity, utilizing his elite skills and big frame to net home the b's first goal in the 3-1 win.
Pouliot raced through the neutral zone alongside linemate Brian Rolston, when he realized the clear advantage the B's had offensively. Pouliot slapped the puck towards Rolston, who drew in a defender before sending it back to Pouliot for the one-time score from the right of the net.
Thursday's game was somewhat of a preview for the Bruins likely first-round matchup with Ottawa, and the B's made the most of their opportunity.
