Carl Crawford's tenure in Boston has been frustrating, to say the least. After a dismal 2011 campaign, the speedy left fielder has been unable to get onto the field this season, as he continues to battle injury problems.
Crawford suffered another setback recently, dealing with a sore elbow in addition to his lingering wrist issue. He admits it's a bit annoying to keep having setbacks, but he says he is focused on getting back to 100 percent so he can help the Sox overcome some early-season struggles.
Crawford's eventual return will be huge for the Red Sox, who are now forced to play without Jacoby Ellsbury, who was placed on the 15-day disabled list Saturday. Crawford could provide a spark atop the Boston order upon his return, or at least that is the hope.
