BOSTON — Doc Rivers did not let his heart get in the way of scientifically proven bracketology when predicting the NCAA men’s basketball tournament.
Rivers, whose son Austin Rivers plays for Duke, did not pick his own flesh and blood to win it all or even to get to the title game. The Celtics coach said he correctly predicted Kansas and Kentucky would play for the national championship, and he declared himself the winner of the team’s bracket contest.
He can do that, he said, because he’s the head coach.
It’s good to be the head coach.
