Manny Pacquiao is a national icon in the Philippines, but his latest endeavor has some natives a bit perplexed.

Pacquiao has appeared in a commercial for Hennessy, which hasn’t been met too favorably by those who feel it contradicts the boxer’s insistence of being “a changed man.” Some critics say the liquor ad is contrary to Pacquiao’s growing image as a Bible ambassdor, according to Yahoo! News.

The commercial shows Pacquiao go from a young boy to a man, running across fields, training and fighting in the ring along the way. Those scenes are followed by a quote that reads, ”Fighting the fights that really matter. That’s my ‘Wild Rabbit.’ — Congressman Manny Pacquiao.”

Pacquiao has reportedly turned his back on vices such as cockfighting, drinking and womanizing. Or at least that’s what many people believed before this recent commercial surfaced.
