The Denver Broncos shocked the world by drafting Maurice Clarett in the third round in 2005. He has since gone from big time running back to armchair quarterback.
Clarett, whose off-the-field trouble derailed any chance he had of enjoying a successful NFL career, decided to utilize Twitter during the first two days of this year’s NFL draft, and he’s been very opinionated about what has transpired so far. Judging by his tweets, the 28-year-old — who now plays for the Omaha Nighthawks of the UFL — isn’t a big fan of draft gurus Mel Kiper Jr. and Todd McShay.
“F*** Mel Kiper. Quit hating on these young dudes who fulfilling they dreams today. Its supposed to be all love,” Clarett tweeted on Thursday night, clearly not thrilled about Kiper’s criticism of certain prospects.
On Friday, the hatred for ESPN’s draft experts continued; this time in the form of a retweet. Clarett retweeted the following tweet.
Clearly, Clarett isn’t a happy camper when it comes to the draft. However, he has found at least one positive, and it’s come from Jon Gruden.
Day 3 of the NFL draft typically involves a lot of unfamiliar names, so Clarett’s Twitter could be the highlight of the day. Stay tuned.
