Red Sox Should Rewrite Baseball’s Unwritten Rules After Narrowly Escaping Disaster (Video)

The Red Sox nearly cost themselves dearly on Monday night after following one of baseball's unwritten rules that, frankly, may need some changing.

We're talking, of course, about Nick Punto's dropped popup in the seventh inning. As NESN Nation's Dan Duquette points out, however, it's not just Punto's fault.

Junichi Tazawa had an easier chance at catching the ball over Punto or Kelly Shoppach, but the Sox are followers of baseball's unwritten rule that pitchers shouldn't catch pop flies in the infield.

See why Dan thinks this rule needs changing in the video above and comment below if you agree or disagree with his take.
