Doc Rivers 'Disappointed' With NBA's Suspension of Rajon Rondo for Bumping Referee Marc DavisThe Celtics will have their work cut out for them in Game 2 of their first-round series with the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday night.

The C's will be without their point guard — and arguably their best player — as Rajon Rondo has been suspended for one game for "making contact with a game official" in Game 1, according to the NBA.

“Obviously, from a competitive standpoint, we are disappointed with the league's decision to suspend Rondo,” Celtics coach Doc Rivers said Monday, according to a tweet from Chris Forsberg of ESPN Boston. “[Rondo] plays a valuable part in our team's success. We accept the punishment and will use it as a learning tool for our players."

Rondo was ejected late in Game 1 after bumping referee Marc Davis after Davis called a foul on Celtics forward Brandon Bass.

The Celtics, playing without Ray Allen, would end up losing Game 1 in Atlanta. It's uncertain whether or not Allen will play in Game 2, but there is now a possibility that the C's will look to even the series without the services of Rondo or Allen.
