The Heat forward picked up his third MVP Award on Saturday, receiving 85 of a possible 121 first-place votes. He's the eighth player in league history to earn at least three MVPs, joining some very impressive company.
James joins the likes of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Michael Jordan, Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlain, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson and Moses Malone on the illustrious list. The difference between James and those other names, however, is that they all won NBA titles during their careers. James still has plenty of time to do so as well, but the Larry O'Brien Trophy has proven to be elusive thus far.
In addition to someday winning a title, James could continue to rack up more individual hardware in the coming years. After all, he's only 27 years old and still has plenty of basketball ahead of him. Those three MVP Awards have come in just nine NBA seasons, so it's realistic to think James could earn a few more before all is said and done.
In fact, it may just be a matter of how many. What do you think?
