Russell Westbrook, Dwyane Wade Among NBA Stars Recently Spotted Dressing Like Nerds (Photos)There was once a time when NBA players would arrive at postgame news conferences dressed in whatever they pleased.

This behavior reached its zenith in the early 2000s, when Allen Iverson was the poster child for the typical postgame wardrobe. In the famous video of his “practice” rant from 2002, Iverson can be seen wearing an all-white T-shirt and a Red Sox hat tilted off to the side of his head.

Other typical clothing choices from that era — influenced in no small part by the simultaneous popularity of hip-hop — included retro jerseys and baggy pants.

Commissioner David Stern, however, was having none of that, and he eventually instituted a league-wide dress code in 2005.

In recent years, a new fashion trend has popped up, yet again led by some of the league’s biggest stars. Except, this time, the wardrobes of choice are a little more nerdy.

Whether it’s glasses, cardigan sweaters or polos, it’s fair to say that NBA players have started to get in touch with their inner geek — and not just after games, but pretty much everywhere they’re spotted.
