Tim Wakefield isn't used to this.
After a 19-year major league career, Wakefield finds himself with a little extra time now that he has officially hung up the cleats. But the knuckleballer hasn't resorted strictly to kicking up his feet. Instead, he's making up for lost time with his family.
Wakefield said he's doing what he can to be a super dad and a super husband, while also mixing in some charity events.
NESN's Tom Caron caught up with Wakefield at one of those charity events, and the former Red Sox hurler discussed his post-playing days and the current Sox squad. While Boston has had plenty of ups and downs to begin this season, Wakefield expects his former teammates to right the ship.
