Bobby Valentine’s Decision to Play Will Middlebrooks Consistently Should Help Adrian Gonzalez (Video)

Will Middlebrooks is on fire as of late, and it’s awfully difficult to find any reason behind sitting down the budding young star.

On Friday, Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine revealed that he would be staying with the “hot hand” in Middlebrooks and that Kevin Youkilis would take a seat in the interim.

Peter Abraham of The Boston Globe discussed Middlebrooks’ new role and how it will eventually impact first baseman Adrian Gonzalez‘s ability to improve his approach at the plate.

Check out the video above for more from Abraham during Friday Night Fenway.

Aetna Strikeouts for A Cause

For every strikeout by a Red Sox pitcher at Fenway Park in June, Aetna will donate $250 to Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program. Through June 25, the donation mark stands at $30,000.

Through their continued efforts in the local community, Aetna is helping to build a healthier world -- one city and one strikeout at a time.
