Lebron James is the best basketball player in the world.
That’s what his MVP awards suggest and that’s what he emphatically proved with his play in Game 6 on Thursday night.
James dropped 45 points, grabbed 15 rebounds and dished out five assists in a performance for the ages, but how he follows that up in the latest, greatest game of his career may define his legacy — until the next big game, at least.
While many will continue to debate whether or not LeBron is “clutch,” the Celtics don’t have the luxury of debate. Instead, they’re faced with the reality that if they don’t figure out a way to stop James, it could very well be the last game Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce play together, signifying an end to the Big 3 era.
In the latest NESN.com podcast, Celtics beat writer Ben Watanabe discussed James’ huge Game 6 performance and more during a conversation with NESN Nation’s Dan Duquette. They also touched on the Celtics’ struggles in close-out games, the TD Garden’s “Let’s Go Celtics” chant at the end of last game and what to expect in Game 7.
